Maulana Yusuf Tahir Killed In Depalpur

Bahawalpur: one of most influential Religious scholar of South Punjab, Maulana Yusuf Tahir has been assassinated here on Friday. On 8 October, unidentified militants attacked on him at Post office Basirpur Road. He was rushed to General Hospital where he was remained under treatment for almost one week.

Maulana Yusuf Tahir was president of Al-Rahmat Trust. Maulana Sahab was also Amir of Amir Jaish e Muhammad (SAWW) in Depalpur.

Jaish e Muhammad condemns killing of its leading member. On other hand, local politicians of southern Punjab showed grief on Maulana. The funeral prayer of Maulana Yusuf will be offered today in Bahawalpur.

It’s worth mentioning here Amir Jaish e Muhammad (SAWW) is banned Jihadi organization which is active in southern Punjab. Maulana Masood Azhar is founder of this Group who founded it in 2000. On other side, Al-Rahmat Trust is an Islamic Welfare Organization which started working in 2001.
