MCHS Karachi’s Lesser Known Neighbourhood

MCHS is a well-developed residential enclave located a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle that characterise Jail Chowrangi. It is easily accessible via two of Karachi’s primary thoroughfares – Shaheed-e-Millat and University Roads. A quiet neighbourhood…. Despite the increasing commercialisation in the areas bordering MCHS in the last decade, the neighbourhood has retained its small town charm, reminiscent of ‘purana Karachi’.

You will see rambling brick houses flanked by tall palm trees that have been there for decades. As you navigate through the narrow lanes, you will come across small markets that caters to the everyday needs of the residents. The presence of quality educational institutions and well-reputed healthcare facilities a few minutes’ drive away adds to MCHS’s appeal.

Out and about… Due to its centralised location, some of Karachi’s most popular shopping hubs–such as Bahadurabad , Tariq Road and Tipu Sultan Road, and The Nursery Market, are all within a 10-kilometre radius. Your shopping trip can not be complete without stopping at the many eateries located there. You can opt for full fledged meals at Arizona Grill or Lal Qila, or barbeque and fast food at Jehangir Meerath Kabab House , Kaybee Snacks, KFC, Dunkin’ Donuts or Subway.

The real estate take…. Housing options within MCHS predominantly include houses built on large plots, with condo-style apartments as a more recent addition . Owing to increased investors interest and demand for commercial setup, several houses located along the main road have been repurposed as corporate offices, retail spaces and stand alone shops. The demand for residential and commercial property has increased by nearly 30% in the last year.

In a nutshell… Although it may not be quiet as posh as some Of karachi’s more well-known neighbourhoods, convenient excess to basic amenities and recreational and fine-dining options make MCHS one of Karachi’s  popular residential areas.
