Milk Prices In Karachi Raised By Rs. 10 Due to Shortage

Milk Prices In KarachiKarachi: Milk Prices have raised by Rs.10 in all over the Karachi due to shortage as milk is being selling at the new price of Rs90 to Rs95 per litre from Monday evening. According to the sources, milk wholesalers are saying that dairy farmers have increased milk rates from Rs 73 to Rs 84 per litre due to which they are unable to sell milk on the old price.

All Karachi Milk Wholesalers Association representative Mohammad Rafiq told that dairy farmers claim that ban has been imposed on the injectable medicine due to which buffaloes would be able to produce 28 litre more milk. As most of the dairy farmers have stopped to inject buffaloes due to which shortage has emerged in the milk production and daily farmers decided to increase milk rates.

On the other hand, Retailers’ Association chief Aslam Nagori said that they are purchasing milk to wholesalers in increased rates due to which they are unable to sell milk on previous rates. It is worth to mention that the official rate of milk is Rs70 per litre. However Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Siddiqui has made an appeal to the people that do not purchase fresh milk on increased rates as official rate of milk is Rs 70/litre.
