Milli Yakjehti Council calls for Mumtaz Qadri’s release

Mumtaz QadriDifferent religious parties have called for Mumtaz Qadri’s release from the platform of Milli Yakjehti Council. During a meeting chaired by provincial president of Milli Yakjehti Council Mohammad Ibrahim in Peshawar, all the members of the council have demanded both the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan to immediately issue order for releasing Mumtaz Qadri with the honor. Various religious leaders from Jamaat-i-Islami, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F, Jamiat Ahle Hadith, Majlis-i-Wadatul Muslimeen and some other groups have also attended the meeting. 2 years ago, TTP had also offered to exchange Mumtaz Qadri with Shahbaz Taseer.

During this meeting, all the participants have said that the prosecution has not fulfilled legal requirement in this case and punishment to Mumtaz Qadri is not according to the Pakistani law. Professor Mohammad Ibrahim said that the voice will be raised from the loudspeakers of Mosques for the release of Mumtaz Qadri. The members of Milli Yakjehti Council have also showed their concerns on the National Action Plan and said that the Mosques and Madarsa’s are being targeted under this plan. Members said that the plan was made to eliminate the extremism and terrorism in the country but the forces are targeting Madarsa’s.

Members of Milli Yakjehti Council have decided to start nationwide campaign against the conviction of Mumtaz Qadri.
