Misbah-ul-Haq Is A Good Batsman But Not A Good Captain: Wasim Akram

Karachi: Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram has said that the Pakistan team needs captain as far as Misbah is a good batsman but not a good captain. When it comes to cricket, question always arise when judging captains. Being a good captain they tend to perform much better once they secure the top post. Misbah represented a notable success but now there are some problems in his captaincy.

Akram admired Shahid Afridi for his batting against India and Bangladesh saying that Afridi is in his extreme best and I did not have words for Afridi’s outstanding batting. It is the decision of the Cricket Board to make Afridi as a captain of Pakistan or not. I will not discuss about it further, Wasim Akram added.

I was very disturbed by the Pakistan’s bowlers; it was not as good as it is that’s why I was unable to sleep for 2 days. It was a very disgusting decision made by the captain of Pakistan to bat first as Pakistan was chasing a good target since last two matches. If Misbah elected to field first we would be able to chased a good target by Sri Lanka through Ahmed Shehzad and Afridi‘s batting as they are in their topmost form, Akram expressed.

Pakistan lost to Sri Lanka in Asia Cup final by five wickets on 8^th March at Mirpur, Bangladesh.
