Missing Person Cases in Sindh High Court

Recently Sindh High Court (SHC) took notice of 70 missing person’s case and expressed serious remarks and stated that Police and Joint Investigation Team are not performing the work properly.

Inspector General (IG) Sindh is not following the court order. The court also directed Federal and Provincial law officers, IG Sindh, Rangers to report on the petitions regarding illegal detentions of citizens.

SHC raised question from DSP Malir regarding missing person case why police is not taking serious steps to find out the missing person. While we have already issued order to publish about missing person case in newspaper.

SHC said to Police that if any family member of your would not sit with satisfaction, you will try hard to find them, you should stand in front of mirror and ask from yourself are you performing their duties.

Petitioners Najma Tahir, Noor Bibi, Rooma Sher Ali, Zohra Hashim, Saghirun Nisa, Nasreen Kamal, Sadia Ayaz, Farah Abdul Jabbar, Jan Bibi, Ata Mohammad, Nisar Ahmed, Shaista Riaz, Mohammad Aslam and Mohammad Ayub also submitted that personnel of law-enforcement agencies picked up Syed Tahir Hussain, Mohammad Amir, Sher Ali, Mohammad Hashim, Mohammad Furqan Khan, Mohammad Junaid, Ayaz Khan, Haroon Ahmed Khan, Zohaib, Dahar Dhareser, Jamil Ahmed, Shahzad Khan, Sajid, Mohammad Imran and Yasin from Liaquatabad, Mauripur, Bahadurabad, FB Area, North Karachi, Lines Area, Preedy, Nazimabad, Khairpur, Orangi Town, Landhi and Rainchorline areas, respectively.

According to the petitioners, Tahir Hussain worked for the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Mohammad Amir in Pakistan Air Force, Sher Ali in KMC, Furqan Khan in Karachi Port Trust, Haroon Ahmed in KMC and Shahzad Khan in Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.
