Mobile Service May Face Suspension on May 11th 2013

Mobile Service suspensionIslamabad: The Interim government is still looking confuse on imposing Mobile network blockage on Election Day. The Caretaker Federal Interior Minister Malik Habib hasn’t clarified government stance on this issue. On other hand, Secretary Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) Ishtiaq Ahmed said that Mobile service may not be suspended on May 11.  He further added that interior ministry can give final words on this issue. The caretaker government may block mobile service only in sensitive areas, he added.

Secretary Election Commission also showed concern that mobile suspension may effect on election commission working. The ECP has updated 8300 SMS service and people would like to avail it on Election Day, Ishtiaq said.

Several Media reports claimed that Mobile network will remain open on Election Day. Many Political workers also concerned on this issue and asked government to don’t suspend mobile blockage. The mobile block will affect communication process, a citizen said.

It’s also worth mentioning here that by sending NIC number to 8300, voters can get details of their polling station and constituency.
