To All Those People Who Have Been Asking What Police Is Doing While Citizens Are Living Under The Threat Of Mugger. This Is What Happened To Me Twice!
About a year ago in October while i was coming back home from my office, bikers stopped me on gun point and snatched all of my belonging including my purse in which there was my identification and license. I went to a police station to lodge a complain and requested for FIR, in application I wrote IVE BEEN MUGGED but in the FIR police officers wrote THE PURSE AND MOBILE WAS LOST.
I said to officer that FIR is not correct and in return they said “Itna kardia kaafi hai lao ab kharcha paani do” I felt helpless.
Second time in March 2016, I was mugged again right in front of my house and again I went to police station to file a complain but they did the same thing and reported as MISSING BELONGINGS and gave me the same reason but that time I haven’t gave them kharcha paani because I insisted the complains are always written free of cost.
Below the pictures are the original Request Letter (they gave it back to me I don’t know why) and FIR where you can clearly see what actually happened.
On a lighter note: I’ve been mugged 5 times.

Police write lost because if they write ‘stolen’, then they will actually have to go out and find your belongings and you know as well as I that the police are never going to do that. They have to report to the higher authorities if they write ‘stolen’ and don’t retrieve the phones. I hope this attitude changes of the police.
In fact the picture you are showing is not a FIR but only a “ROZNAMCHA”. as per rule, they cant file a ROZNAMCHA for a crime but for an incident only. they did not even lodge an FIR because if they lodge, they will be accountable from higher authorities for increasing crime in their areas so that’s why they have just given you ROZNAMCHA that “aap ki koi cheez bus kaheen kho geyee hai”. FIR is something different and it will cost you an arm and a leg to lodge an FIR for your routine belongings.
Two years back I also went through the same pain and in my case police tried to convinced me saying that it will be good for me otherwise i will have to come to thana for identifying the robbers and it will be very disturbing and dangerous for me.
