Makhdoom Syed Iftikhar Hussain Gillani is a well-known politician as well as Chairperson of Services & General Administration, Special Committee No. 23 and member of Management and Professional Development. He is a son of Makhdoon Syed Shamsuddin Gillani and was born on December 23, 1957 at Uch Sharif, Bahawalpur.
Makhdoom Syed Iftikhar Hassan Gillani is graduated in BA from from Islamia University, Bahawalpur in 1979. He has a Party affiliation with Pakistan Muslim League and was also served as a MPA of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in the year 1997-1999 and 2002-2007 as his relative (nephew) Syed Ali Hassan Gillani was also a member of National Assembly of Pakistan in the year 2002-2007.
Pakistan Muslim League MPA returned to the Punjab Assembly for the third term and is working as Chairman, Standing Committee on S&GAD. His father Makhdoon Syed Shamsuddin Gillani was a member of this party in the year 1958-1977 whereas his grandfather, Mian Muhammad Ibrahim Ali Berq also worked at many posts as he was a member of Punjab Legislative Assembly, Minister for Education in the year 1946-1947, Member, West Punjab Legislative Assembly during 1947-1949, Member of Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan in 1962-65 and as member of National Assembly.
Makhdoom Syed Iftikhar Hassan Gillani is the Chief of the Gillani family and the Sajada Nasheen of Darbar-e-Qadria, Uch Sharif as he is married and has 4 children. He also worked as Councillor of Tehsil Council, Uch Sharif as he also served as member of District Council Bahawalpur in 1990-1992. Furthermore he was a member of Bahawalpur Development Authority in 1992-199, also functioned as Chairman of Steering Committee District Bahawalpur in 2002-07 and was a Chairman of Allotment Committee District Bahawalpur during the year 2005-2007 too. Besides all these Iftikhar Hassan Gillani was also worked as Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab.
