MQM worker Wasim Aziz Bhatti Died In Jail

MQM workerKarachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s worker who was under the custody of police at the Aziz Bhatti police station in Karachi has died today. According to the sources, the family of the late accused has claimed that Wasim Aziz died due to the violence of police as murder case has been filed against the sub-inspector and three other police officials by Wasim’s family.

However, MQM has announced a two-day strike over the killing of its workers who died due to alleged tortured in police custody. According to a statement issued by MQM’s spokesperson, business and transport will remain close for two days in the grief of MQM’s activist.

MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain has also expressed grief and sorrow on the death of Wasim Aziz Bhatti who was a worker of Baldia Town’s sector in 117 unit.

Although, an autopsy has been completed of late Wasim AzizBhatti in which it is said that suspect died due to head injury as his body had torture marks and his head had deep cuts. In this regard, SHO of the police station got suspended while other police officials who were involved in this case are under detained for interrogation.

On the other hand, IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali also ordered to establish an inquiry team under the supervision of DIG in order to investigate the case with instantaneous effects.
