MQM Workers Jamil (Babu), Atiq & Masood Rajput Remanded

MQM Workers  RemandedKarachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) three workers named as Jamil a.k.a. Babu, Atiq and Masood Rajput has sent on rangers’ remand for 90 days by an anti-terrorism court (ATC). According to the details, Jamil, Atiq and Masood Rajput were brought by the military groups in high security to the court where decision was taken to remand them for further investigation.

These suspects were found to be involve in target killing, kidnapping for ransom and extortion and were arrested in April by the law-enforcement agency. It is pertinent to mention that target killing, kidnapping for ransom and extortion are punishable under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. Accused related to MQM were set to be detained under Section 11EEEE (1) of the ATA for three months.

However, investigating officer requested during the court proceedings to increase physical remand of these three suspects for further investigation. Officer also claimed that more than 2,000 plots in Surjani Town and Bath Island were sold illegal by these suspects as evidences and bank account details have also gathered in this regard. [alert style=”white”] ATC has also extended physical remand of two defendants Mujeeb Ullah and Faisal Masood for five days as they were also allegedly involve in in terrorist activities, money laundering and China-cutting land cases.
