NA-122 & NA-154 By-elections on 11th October

ECPIslamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that by-elections in NA 122 and NA 154 constituencies will held on 11th October. According to the sources, election process is set to start from 10th of September as ECP has declared 11th September as the last date of filing nomination papers.

However nomination papers of the candidates for by-elections will be examined by the ECP from 14th September to 15th September whereas the list of names of selected candidates will issue on 21st September. Meanwhile some reports claimed that ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has announced to contest in by-elections for NA 122 and NA 154 constituencies.

On the other hand, PTI chairman Imran Khan was invited by Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid in order to contest against Sardar Ayaz Sadiq who is contesting from NA 122 Lahore. Meanwhile Pervaiz Rashid also asked former Secretary General of PTI Jehangir Tareen to contest in by-elections from NA-154.

It is pertinent to mention that Punjab election commission’s tribunal decided to re-election in National Assembly constituency NA-122 in the result of Imran Khan’s petition against rigging in general elections 2013. [alert style=”white”] Moreover, Punjab tribunal has also removed PML-N’s leader Muhammad Siddique Khan Baloch from the seat of constituency NA-154 while ordering re-polling in the constituency.
