New way of stealing your phone in Karachi

I went to a bakery in Bahadurabad near my house. I usually go to that bakery to buy things for supper. Today a guy aged 19-21 on a bike stopped me and asked me if I had credit in my phone I told him I don’t have any credit so he asked me if I had enough credit for a text I said I didn’t bring my phone then I went inside the bakery the guy followed me there and said he has his own sim card he just needs my phone to make a call to his sister as his phone’s dead I reluctantly gave him my phone inside the bakery he made the call but had no actual conversation with anyone and acted like the call keeps disconnecting then he bought water for himself and a drink for me in-spite my resistance so that everyone thinks we’re friends.

After that he went outside I took my things and went after him then he asked me where’s Alamgir Mosque I pointed towards the mosque and asked for my phone he said he wants to pick up his sister I said I’ll come there on foot just give me my phone he insisted that I ride with him to the mosque I got on his bike(ready to make a move if he tries to do something). He went to the mosque and asked me to get off so that he can get off too.

At this point my phone was in his pocket I told him I need my phone I have to go back home he said he just needs to pick up his sister from a friend’s house during all this he tried to take him to my house but I kept ignoring it every time. When I got off his bike he said you wait here I’ll be back in a min I just have to pick up my sister and then sped off before I could react.

I waited 30 minutes in the scorching sun, but he never came back I took the things home looked around in my area asking people about him but nobody remembers seeing him. I went home and tried erasing my phone using my Google account but it didn’t work but my phone had a pin code already.

Since that time I believed he’ll come back or something but he didn’t even bother calling my ICE Contacts. I have his picture but I won’t upload it anywhere, at least for now. Stay safe everyone these people are becoming smarter day by day.
