Pakistan Can Receive $2bn Development Fund From World Bank

Rachid Benmessaoud  with Ishaq DarIslamabad: Pakistan has become eligible to receive $2 billion development fund for next four financial years 2015-2015. According to a senior official of World Bank, Pakistan is able to get Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) funding of $2 billion from the bank as Country Director of WB Rachid Benmessaoud has informed about it to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday.

According to the details, Rachid Benmessaoud met with Ishaq Dar on Wednesday’s morning in order to talk about future development roadmap of the country and its matters where Benmessaoud appreciated the improvement in FBR revenue and GDP which is good for the country. On the other hand, Ishaq Dar also thanked Mr. Benmessaoud for declaring this good news and sharing positive words with him for the country. Mr. Ishaq Dar also told during the meeting that infrastructure projects will be highly facilitate with these development funds provided by the bank.

[alert style=”white”] It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan was unable to avail IBRD funding facility in 2012 from World Bank due to worst condition of macro-economic stability of the country. [/alert]

However Pakistan is fully eligible to meet with the required criteria of the World Bank with respect to the Country Partnership strategy (CPS).
