Pakistan Export Policy

Pakistan is following basically a free export in general except for those commodities where indigenous production falls short of domestic demand. All other commodities are allowed to be freely exported. The main objectives of the export policy are to increase foreign exchange earnings of the country, strengthen competitive ability of exportable products, diversify exports, improvements in quality & standardization of exportable goods & move in direction of higher value added items.

A high level Federal Export Promotion Board meets periodically, reviews export performance, & recommends important steps in order to boost exports.

In order to achieve objectives of export policy, Government has initiated a number of measures;

1. Export finance at concessional rates.

2. Export credit guarantee scheme.

3. Exemption in income tax from earned through exports.
