Pakistan – Governor & Chief Minister Brief Profile

Governor: The Governor is the constitutional head of Province & is nominated by President of Pakistan. The Governor occupies the same position which is commanded by President in Federal System. The Governor is empowered to call or postpone the session of Provincial Assembly. The Provincial Advocate General & head of higher educational institutions are also appointed by the Governor.

Chief Minister: The member of the Provincial Arsembly who has confidence & support of majority of the assembly is nominated Chief Minister by the Governor of the Province. The Chief Minister selects his Cabinet & assigns one or more ministries to one provincial minister.

In the other words the Chief Minister is center of whole of machinery in the Provincial System. The Chief Minister, with his Cabinet is accountable
