Pakistan Seventh Five Year Plan (1988-98)

The Seventh Five Year Plan was prepared by semi-political government of Muhammad Khan Junejo which culminated in to the political government of Mrs. Benazir Bhutto, therefore, the Seventh Five Year Plan was the First Medium Term Plan after the Third Five Year Plan implemented in a political environment.

Gradual decrease in the rate of unemployment especially of educated people. Development of human resources. An amount of Rs. 660 billion was originally allocated for the plan out of which Rs. 292.4 billion for the private sector and Rs. 367.8 billion were allocated for the public sector.

The allocated amount in the Seventh Plan was 35 percent higher than Sixth Plan, when the new government came in power, it reduced the public sector allocation from Rs. 367.8 to Rs. 322.95 billion. Raising investment 15.4 percent.
