Patients With Diabetes Have Greater Risk Of Heart Attack

University of Leeds has revealed that diabetic patients have 50% greater risk of getting a heart attack. This claim was based on data of 700,000 people who had been hospitalized because of heart attack on a period of 10 years.

In patients of diabetes the risk of death from complete artery blockage was 56% greater, if the artery was partially blocked even then diabetic patients had 39% greater risk.

The researcher from Leeds University Dr. Chris Gale said:” “These results provide robust evidence that diabetes is a significant long-term population burden among patients who have had a heart attack.”
