Pakistan cricket fans mostly men were gathered at Five Star Chowrangi and were dancing and shouting in joy. Pakistan defeated Australia in its third and final match of Super 8 stage by 31 runs and now green shirts will face Sri Lanka in semi-final on 4th October at 6:30 PM PST. Celebrations were also seen in Lahore, Faisalabad and other cities of Pakistan.
Some people presented at Five Star Chowrangi were of the view that it is good to see fireworks but aerial firing should stop. Aerial firing is done in various cities of Pakistan on joy moments like Chand Raat, 14th August, Pakistan cricket team victory. This has also caused deaths and injuries. A man with his 4 year old son said that this trend of aerial fining should be finished and media should also discourage this act.
