Pir Masood Chishti Elected president of LHCBA

Lahore_high_court_bar_association_LogoLahore: Advocate Pir Masood Chishti has elected as President of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) on Saturday by getting 4,053 votes against Shahid Maqbool Sheikh who received 3,118 votes. According to the details, annual polls of 2015 was held on Saturday in which Mr Chishti successfully got highest votes through electronic voting system as he was poured with rose petals by his supporters on the announced of election board regarding his victory.

The followers of former law secretary Pir Masood Chishti danced on drum beat and chanted slogans in favor of him whereas Pakistan Bar Council vice chairman Azam Nazir Tarar, the two members of PBC who are also known as key leaders of Independent Group named as Burhan Moazam Malik and Ahsan Bhoon were also presented during the event.

Similarly Muhammad Ahmad Qayum elected as general secretary by receiving 751 votes against his rival Mian Asghar Ali who got 3,392 votes. The post of vice-president was achieved by Muhammad Irfan Arif Sheikh obtaining 4,309 votes whereas his opponent Sofia Masood left behind with 2,805 votes. Finance Secretary of LHCBA has also selected with the help of with 2,628 votes in favor of Syed Akhtar Hussain Sheerazi by defeating candidates Azeem Akram, Nabila Manzoor and Amina Ajmal who got less votes as compared to him.
