Political Career:
MNA Murtaza Javed Abbasi successfully elected as 18th deputy speaker of National Assembly on 3rd June 2013 by securing 258 votes out of 313 votes. He is also elected as MNA from NA-18 Abbottabad-II by defeating Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid-e-Azam group (PML-Q)’s candidate Sardar Muhammad Yaqub with the help of 36000 votes. In general elections, Murtaza Javed Abbasi further elected as MNA from the same constituency by securing 69532 votes. He has also remained Chairman Standing Committee on Narcotic Control of the National Assembly. In August 2015, Abbasi appointed as acting speaker of the National Assembly by replacing Ayaz Sadiq who was dismissed by Election Commission of Pakistan due to the alleged rigging in NA-122 in which he defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.
Mr. Abbasi has played vital role in the development of NA-18 constituency and strengthening party and its agenda. He has gained high attention in his constituency due to his public services which has boosted the province in a new way. NA-18 is known as strongest constituency of PML-N from where prominent political figures associated with PML-N has elected with huge margin. It is worth mentioning here that PML-N Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has also elected from the same constituency in the past.

Murtaza Javed Abbasi is son of late Haji Javed Iqbal Abbasi who had served as Chairman of District Council Abbottabad as well as also he was also elected as Member of National Assembly and Senator. However Murtaza Abbas was born on 15th March in 1970 at Abbottabad, Pakistan. He is married.
