Al Haj Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti is a leading political figure belonging to constituency PP-73 (Jhang-I). He is a member of 16th Assembly whose tenure spans from the year 2013 till date. His current official position is the Member of Religious Affairs and Auqaf. He belongs to mainstream right-wing political party of Punjab with a good supporter base in that province Pakistan Muslim League whose leadership has served sentences for stance against a dictator, led by businessman turned politician and owner of Ittefaq Group Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shareef. He has always been leading from the front in his party. He is famous for his endeavour, perseverance and firm resolve. He has taken many positive steps in his constituency for improving quality of religious affairs in his constituency and improving Auqaf affairs.

By profession he is a businessman who is held in good prestige in business community for his support and help in building business community stronger with its issues put forward and resolved. He is also a teacher by profession mainly in Islamic circles. He is regarded as a good intellectual and knowledgeable man in Islamic field. His father Molana Manzoor Ahmed Chinioti was also an influential person with dignity and moral values, he had been an official in Provincial Assembly of Punjab during the years 1985-1988, 1988-1990 and 1992-1993. Al Haj Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti was born in Chiniot. He is living a happy married life with his wife and children. His hardworking and public service has earned him a prestige of holding other official position. He has served as a member of Provincial Assembly of Punjab from the year 2008-2013. He has travelled to various tourist sites around the world together with them he has carried many travels for business purposes. For private tours he has travelled to Bangladesh in 2012, India in 1980, Indonesia in 2001, Mozambique in 2004, South Africa in 2012, and United Arab Emirates in 2012. He has also gone to holy mosque of Allah the Ka’ba for performing Hajj and Umrah and for study purposes from 1985-1986, 1992 and 2012. He follows Islam as religion.
