Dr Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath is a politician affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) in 16th Punjab Assembly whose tenure spans from the year 2013 till date. He belongs to constituency PP-28 (Sarghoda-I). His current official position is Chairperson of Public Accounts Committee-II. He has also held previous official position as a Member of Provincial Assembly of Punjab from 2002-2007 and 2008-2013. His father Dr Malik Ijaz Ahmad Bharath is an influential person together a politician. His father had been an official in Provincial Assembly of Punjab from 1988-1990 and 1993-1996.
He is a highly qualified person. He holds the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and by profession he is a doctor. He is respected and praised in his community. He has travelled to many countries across the world. He travelled to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah in 2010, to Singapore for business purpose in 2012 and to United States for private tour in 2011.
