PPP MPA Sonia Naz Met Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Member of Sindh Assembly (MPA) Sonia Naz met with Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. She was accompanied with three member commission. Sonia Naz discussed the law and order situation of Karachi especially of Lyari. Most of the channels and newspapers were not aware of this meeting and hence didn’t reported this news.

Habib Hassan vice president of Karachi division of PPP and a lawyer were also part of the group which met Chief Justice of Pakistan. Legal experts while commenting on this meeting between Chief Justice and politician said that traditionally Judges avoid to meet elected representatives but there is no restriction from law that Chief Justice cannot meet politicians or any other personality.

After this news was published by a leading English newspaper website many people started criticizing Chief Justice of Pakistan and said that Sonia Naz is not an authority of Karachi nor is Chief Justice so for what purposes they are meeting. A local politician from Karachi said that it is very unusual to see that MPA has met Chief Justice of Pakistan to discuss law and order situation of metropolis city.
