PPP Nasir Hussain Shah Says Govt to Engage Imams For Important Teaching

PPPKarachi: The member of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Infant Feeding Board Nasir Hussain Shah has said that government should engaged imams for important teaching all over the province in order to encourage mothers for breastfeeding. He demanded to government while talking to the media seminar on Tuesday.

Nasir Hussain Shah also said that it is important to aware mothers by convincing them breastfeeding is also useful for their own health as well as their newborns because it safes their babies from many diseases and infections. The ultimate session of the two-day workshop was held in local hotel in which several healthcare issues were highlighted as breastfeeding and newborn problems are one of the major issues which was highly focused. The seminar was attended by Mr Shah, the member of the Sindh Assembly; Dr Zafar Ijaz, the director of health for Karachi division; Iqbal Detho; Iqbal Memon, the doctor of Pakistan Pediatrics Association and Mubashir Zaid, a journalist.

A member of the Sindh Assembly, Mr Shah told during an event that government is also planning to start a media campaign in which prayer leaders (pesh imams) and beauticians will be involved in order to spread awareness about breastfeeding. Dr Zafar Ijaz, a director of health for Karachi division endorsed the plan of government of involving beauticians in its future awareness campaign for mothers.
