Karachi: On instruction by the Prime Minister, relaxation has been brought in the Youth Business Loan Scheme. Now, through an application form, more than one person can apply for the loan. The Prime Minister visited National Bank of Pakistan’s headquarter (NBP) on Saturday.
On the occasion, the PM was briefed by NBP board of directors Chairman Munir Kamal and vice President Asif Hussain. Mian Nawaz Sharif was flanked by Governor Sindh, Doctor Ishrat ul Ibad, Federal Ministers Chaudhary Nisar, Pervaiz Rasheed, Khawaja Asif and other high officials.
The Prime Minister directed to relax the loan scheme. He further directed to change criteria for the applicants. According to the changes, now any person who has property thrice of the loan amount as well as those government employees, who have 8 years left for services, can apply.
Restriction to having bank accounts at NBP has also been uplifted. Nawaz Sharif appreciated the efforts of the NBP staff in regard to the loan system. He said that objective of the scheme is to bridge the gap between the middle and lower class people. Jobless youth empowerment is the primary goal of the program, stated the PM.
Mian Nawaz Sharif further directed the NBP staff to extend fullest support to the applicants. He stressed that no incompetence be shown by the responsible persons in running the program.
