Lahore: Nawaz Sharif has become the first civilian Prime Minister who has visited 14 foreign countries in a year. Since the 25th June 2013, 13 public and 1 private foreign visits are included, Saudi Arabia was the only private visit in which a gift of half billion dollars has been received by the Pakistan.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif tours list is as follows:
1st official visit: Chine, 3-7 July 2013.
2nd private Visit: Saudi Arabia, 3rd August 2013.
3rd official visit: Turkey, 16- 18 September 2013.
4th and 5th visit: America, December 2013.
6th Visit: UK, 28 October-1st November 2013.
7th visit: Sri Lanka, 14-17 November 2013.
8th visit: Thailand, 17 November 2013.
9th visit: Afghanistan, one day trip in 2013.
10th visit: Turkey, February 2013.
11th visit: Netherlands, 2014.
12th visit: Chine, April 2014.
13th visit: UK, May 2014.
14th visit: Iran, 11-13 May,2014.
Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had 18 official trips around the world at a time of his 4 years and 3 months tenure from 25th March 2008 to 19th June 2012 as he had not any private tour. Yousuf Raza Gillani’s 6 trips in 2009, including the UK, Germany, Libya, Sri Lanka, Egypt and China and in the year of 2010, he had visited to 11 countries which include UK, America, Nepal, Bhutan, Belgium, Spain, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Oman. Switzerland was the last overseas trip of him from 25th– 29th January, 2012 in which the Prime Minister had attended the World Economic Forum.
While the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf had 6 foreign trips in which his 3 visits were private in the period of his 9 months of his tenure from 22nd June 2012 to 25th March 2013. The 3 official trips of Raja Pervez Asharf’s include China, Afghanistan and Kuwait and 3 private visits of him to India, UK and Saudi Arabia.
How many foreign visits since the date of this report. I am hoping he soon runs out of countries to visit, before the country runs out of money.
