Pakistan literally, Land of the Pure, is a predominantly Muslim State in the South Asian region. Pakistan has has been founded on the basis of Islamic ideology, where Muslims could lead their way of life according to the principles of Islam and Islamic culture, and through that Pakistan could have constructed the political society in view of the ideology of Islam.
Since establishment of Pakistan, there had been a growing popular demand for incorporating Islamic principles into constitution & for Islamization of laws & society.
Constitution of 1956, 1962 & 1973 all have provided Islamic foundations. They call the country ‘Islamic Republic of Pakistan’. These all constitutions believe that no law shall be repugnant to the teachings & requirements of Islam as soughtout in the Holy Quran & Sunnah.
