Proposals Of Cripps Mission

The following were the proposals of Cripps Mission:

1. An assembly should be formed after the War for framing the constitution with the representation of provinces and the states.

2. The British Government recommended to accept the approved constitution with the following conditions:

a) In case the Government rejects the India constitution, India will have a right to continue her previous status and the option to join the new constitution afterwards. The provinces, under the same process, will have the right to frame the constitution and they will be given the status of union.

b) Reference of the matter pertaining to the transfer of power under an agreement in the constitutional assembly and the commitments made to the minorities.

3. The Principle of constituting assembly was also decided.
