PSO Corruption Scandal: General Manager Arrested

PSOKarachi: General Manager of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) named as Naveed Alam Zuberi was arrested in corruption case on Tuesday by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). According to the details, officers of FIA came into the headquarters of PSO and arrested Naveed Alam Zuberi over corruption charges as he has found to be involve in Rs6.2 million corruption with the help of fake tendering as well as also had taken bribes through bank transactions.

However, the news has also been confirmed by FIA CCC deputy director Kamran Ataullah as FIR has registered under sections 161, 240, 467, 468, 471, 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 5(2) of the Anti-Corruption Act 1947.Zuberi has taken to the FIA’s Corporate Crime Circle for further interrogation. On the other hand, FIA has also claimed that some other officials are also expected to be arrested soon due to their involvement in corruption cases. It is worth mentioning here that zuberi has close ties with ex-petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain, who is also under detained over corruption cases.

Naveed Alam Zuberi has served as Managing Director of Asian Petroleum Limited, known as subsidiary of PSO which is used to run an oil pipeline.
