PTA Launches Updated SMS Sending Policy For Mobile Subscribers

mobileIslamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has introduced a new policy according to which people will be able to get rid of advertisement SMS on their mobile numbers. If 200 SMS from a single number within 15 minutes are being sent, PTA will block the number. On submitting an affidavit the SIM will be opened only once.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority will now block any number which sends more than 200 SMS in 15 minutes according to its new policy. This policy has been introduced to stop the advertisement messages that disturb many people. This step was taken after several complaints that were registered to PTA.

Once the service of a person is blocked who uses to send 200 SMS in 15 minutes can be re-opened after submitting an affidavit that he/ she will not repeat it again. In case the action is repeated by the same number its service will be canceled.

According to PTA this step has been taken to stop unwanted messages but it can also affect those people who use to send SMS to the whole list at a single time. So those people shall be sure that they do not send SMS to 200 contacts in 15 minutes.
