PTI Leader Ghulam Sarwar Cheema Passes Away

Ghulam Sarwar CheemaLahore: Former Federal Minister and leading member of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Ghulam Sarwar Cheema has passed away. According to a web portal, Colonel (Retd) Ghulam Sarwar Cheema died at age of 73. He was a sugar patient and his health was down from few days.

Funeral Prayer of Ghulam Sarwar will be offered in Dera Ghulam Sarwar Cheema, Head Khanki. Funeral prayer timing will be 1 PM on Friday. PTI Chairman Imran Khan show grief on Cheema’s death. Ghulam Sarwar was father-in-law of Secretary Finance Punjab Tariq Bajwa. CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif also expressed his sorrow.

Ghulam Sarwar Cheema started his Political career with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He won from NA 101 and later appointed as Defence Minister.

After few years he left PPP and Joined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. He won National Assembly seat with support of PML-N. Ghulam Sarwar left PML-N and joined PTI and he was important member of PTI.
