Publication Of Asbaab-E-Baghawat-E-Hind

The incident of 1857 annoyed the English people with the Indian Muslims very much and they were confident that the Indian Muslims fought against the British with planning. As a result of this, a gap was created between British and the Muslims.

To bridge this gap, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan wrote a book entitled ‘Asbaab-e-Baghawat-e-Hind'(causes of war of independence) in 1858. He impressed the causes upon the British which culminated into the War of Independence of 1857.

Sir Syed Ahmed Khan expressed his opinion in this book that the British were mistaken to understand that Muslims fought against them as a deliberate plan. He wrote that these were factually the Hindus who instigated Muslim for this fight.
