Punjab Police to Operate Drone Cameras To Counter Kite Flying

DronePunjab Police has decided to counter kite flying with drone cameras. According to the media reports, Punjab Police has decided to counter kite flying in Rawalpindi by using drone cameras, after ban on kite flying in the province from Punjab Government. These drones were given to the police last year in July, in order to keep eye on criminals and to monitor Muharram Juloos. According to the Punjab Police, these drone can be very useful to monitor sale of kites and its other accessories including thread. Currently, Punjab Police has 50 drone cameras.

According to the sources of Punjab Police, these drones can be also helpful to take picture of those people who will be involved in firing. Similarly, District Police of Rawalpindi and City Traffic Police (CTP) were also given these drone cameras last year to beat crime and traffic rules violation. However, CTP has not yet used these drones to catch violators of traffic rules in the city. DPO Rawalpindi has launched this service on press club by flying a drone.

It is to be noted that Punjab Government has released strict orders to the police, for implementation of ban on kite flying in the province.
