Punjabi is spoken in Punjab as regional language. Punjabi, like Urdu, is also based on Prakriti Bhasha also includes the Persian, Arabic and Turkish words. Punjabi is although spoken all over Punjab but it has different places. The Punjabi language spoken in Sialkot and Lahore has different accent than the Punjabi spoken in Rawalpindi and Gujrat.

The poets of Punjabi have influenced Punjabi in different periods. For instance, Bodha used Punjabi for his poetry then by the end of 12th century and beginning of 13th century, Baba Fareed Ganj Shakar left his impressions on Punjabi through his poetry. Waris Shah’s Heer and Baba Buleh Shah have also played a crucial role in the development of Panjabi literature and poetry.
