Environmental pollution is directly related to population growth. With the rapid increase in population, the environmental pollution is also increasing day by day. Environmental pollution has posed a great problem today. The governments of various countries are making plans to deal with this difficult task.

The following causes show the relationship between the population growth and the environmental pollution.

Industrialisation: To meet the demands of the people’s needs, a large number of industries have been set up. The factories and mills are responsible for increasing the environmental pollution because they do not make necessary arrangements for disposing their wastes which include toxic chemicals and are great hazards for all sorts of life especially human life.

Insecticides and Pesticides: To feed increasing population of the world, extensive use of insecticides and pesticides are used in agriculture.
