Women of Punjab were also not legging behind the men in the Pakistan Movement. The women, who prominently worked for creating the will to achieve Pakistan amongst the Muslims of Punjab, were Begum Kamaluddin, Begum Mumtaz Daultana , Begum Waqar Un Nisa Noon,Begum Geti Ara, Begum Karim Dad and Begum Mian Iftikhar Uddin.
All these ladies borne difficulties and faced odds for achieving the freedom but no problem could divert their attention from this goal. The Punjab Police used all the weapons from ‘Lathi Charge’ to tear gas, but the morale of these women could not be weakened.
The Union Jack was thrown and the flag of Muslim League was hoisted on Lahore Secretariat also by a Muslim girl student of Punjab.
