Sanjay Dutt Will Go To Jail – Not Appealing For Pardon

Bollywood star Sanjay Duut broke down into tears during a press conference when he announced that he will not appeal against the Suprem Court of India verdict that he has to be sentenced to five years in prison. Munna Bhai of Bollywood has been charged for buying weapons from Mumbai gangsters who who planned a series of bombings in 1993 which killed 257 people. Many of Sanjay Dutt co-actors, fans and supporters are urging that Sanjay Dutt must apply for pardon.

Sanjay Dutt who was flanked with his family member said: “I will surrender…the court has given me time,” Supreme Court of India has given three week times to Dutt for surrendering. It is expected that Sanjay will complete shooting of the films in which he playing the role.

The 53-year-old has already spent 18 months behind bars after his conviction by a lower court but he was released on bail in 2007. “With folded hands, I want to tell the media and the citizens of the country that when I have not applied for pardon, there is no debate,” Dutt said, while repeatedly breaking down. “Let me be in peace till I go … I have lots of work to complete,” Sanjay added.
