Schools Closed In Karachi On 18th January After Mazhar Imam Killing

All the private schools will remain close in Karachi on Friday (18th January). This was announced by Private School Association in accordance with the situation of the city. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Mazhar Imam was killed in Orangi Town area of Karachi along with his three security guards.

After the killing of MQM lawmaker tension rose in the city. Most of the shops, markets, and business were closed to avoid any violent backlash. All Karachi Tajir Ittehad also annouced that businesses will remain closed today.

Aerial firing was also reported in Orangi Town, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Federal B Area and other parts. It is to pertinent to mention here that private schools in the metropolitan city also remain closed on 14th January (Monday) as a solidarity with victims of Quetta tragedy where more than 100 people were killed in a blast.
