Accessible via 9th Avenue and Faisal Avenue, Sector G-8 is one of Islamabad’s most popular neighborhoods. It has primarily been home to government employees for decades, and it is characterized by wide, tree-lined streets and well-maintained houses.
Live well, play hard… Sector G-8 is one of the few neighborhoods in Islamabad where apartments are readily available, in addition to house built on plots ranging between 138 to 250 square yards. Residents have access to a range of amenities including educational institutes, hospitals and pharmacies along with recreational spots such as a few parks and playgrounds where badminton, football and volleyball matches are held frequently.
Don’t forget the groceries…. The centrally located G-8 markaz froms the commercial spine of the sector, and several stores dealing in groceries, home ware and cosmetics, as well as car showrooms have a presence there. Although foodie joints are not very high in number, some of the city’s most popular restaurants can e found there, including Docca Mocca, Hanif rajput, Lavish Dine and Tandoori. For high-end dining most residents head to the Blue Area food street, which is a five- minute drive away. Similarly, for a more wide-ranging shopping experience, the well-known Centaurs Mall serves as an ideal destination.
A ‘landmark’ sector…. One of the best known landmarks of sector G-8 is the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Popularly known as PIMS, where a hospital is located in addition to a research center. Other landmarks in the sector include the NORI Hospital, Pakistan post head Office, PEMRA Headquarters and PTCL Headquarters.
The real estate take… Classified as a budget neighborhood, property prices and rentals in sector G-8 are relatively lower when compared to other residential areas nearby. Property prices and rentals increase by approximately five percent annually.
In a nutshell…. Sector G-8 provides convenient living at affordable rates. Even though it lacks high – end shopping and dining venues, its central location and proximity to Islamabad’s most popular malls and high-end restaurants make up for this.
