Mr Arif Mahmood Gill is a member of 16th Assembly, tenure of which began in 2013 and continues till date. He is a renowned politician of Faisalabad District and has held official positions previously. He . His current official position is that he is a member of Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Management and Professional Development. He is an old member of mainstream, national level political party of Pakistan with strong roots in society Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) lead by the former and current Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shareef who is also known as an owner of Ittefaq group (found in 1939 by Shareef’s father and uncles).
Mr Arif Mahmood is agriculturist by profession. He has been a strong voice for rights of farmers and has devised many plans for making their lives better. His father’s name is Ch. Mazhar Ali Gill who also holds influential position in his society. Mr Arif Mahmood was born in Samudari on 20th February in the year 1973. He is a faithful husband and loving father and is living a happy married life. He has raised two children.
Mr Arif Mahmood and also his relatives have held official positions in past assemblies. He had been a member of District Council from the year 1997 till 1999. He was also Chairman Standing Committee on Transport in Provincial Assembly of Punjab from the year 2002 till the year 2007. His father Mazhar Ali Gill was a member of District Council from the year 1979-1982 and had been a part of Provincial Assembly of Punjab for many years.
