Sharmeela Proposes One-Dish Bill In Sindh Assembly

Karachi: Sindh Assembly has passed an unofficial bill pertaining to the extravagancy in wedding celebrations. Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza convened the meeting at the assembly. Sindh Assembly member of PPP, Sharmeela Farooqui presented the unofficial pertaining to the extravagant expenditures in the wedding celebrations.

The bill presented the impression of restriction on lightening more than one building, nearby buildings, roads, and parks. It stated for the decoration of only the wedding home. Area with up to 10 feet distance should be used for wedding set ups. While for dining the guests, snacks and a dish should be kept only with juices to serve. It proposed for the banning on the use of fireworks and nutcrackers too.

The bill presented by Sharmeela suggested the follow of the law by the restaurants, hotels, wedding halls, public parks, wedding halls, grounds and the caterers. In case of violation, punishment worth of Rs. 10 lacs with seven years imprisonment shall be imposed.

While talking to the media outside the assembly, she said that ‘one- dish law’ has been proposed t avoid inconvenience to the middle class people who face difficulty to meet the wedding extra-vagrant expenditures.
Sharmila said that she will also implement the one dish law in her wedding.
