Sherry Rehman Among Top Influential Women Leaders

Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Sherry Rehman is recognized among World’s Top 125 Women of Impact. American organization which is dedicated to women’s advancement has listed Sherry Rehman in the rating of influential women leaders all around the world.

The foundation called Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman a “master tactician” and stated: “Sherry Rehman, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, is known for her eloquence, elegance, and diplomatic savvy and no one seems better at calming the stormy relationship between Washington and Islamabad,”

Sherry Rehman was awarded Pakistan’s highest civilian award “Nishan-e-Imtiaz” by President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on her outstanding services.

Sherry Rehman, 52, was appointed Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting after PPP formed the government but Sherry resigned from the ministry in March 2009 when some private channels transmission was blocked by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA). Sherry developed differences with her own government on media policy.
