Shortage of Foreign Exchange: Pakistan industries need machines and their spare parts and even raw materials and services of technical experts for which we need foreign exchange which always falls short of our requirements because our balance of trade is not favourable (our imports expenses exceed our export receipts).
Absence of Effective Planning: All the under developed countries including Pakistan need effective expend economic planning in all sectors of economy including industrial planning. In this connection we should study the industrial planning of People’s Republic of China and her industrial development.
We can collect the necessary information from Taiwan, Japan, Singapore and even from India. Our industrialists and members of planning commission should tour these countries and learn the modern methods of economic planning. But for this work it is necessary to have stable governments in Pakistan which are not dominated by the corrupted bureaucrats.
