Shortage Of Residential Units In Karachi Because of Migration

The migration of rural population to urban areas (Karachi) adds to the shortage of residential units. As a result, slums are developed in the cities where basic civic amenities are lacking. Or people have to pay higher rents for accommodation.

Unemployment: As a result of fast migration to cities from rural areas, the unemployment increases.

Crimes: The unemployment might turn the people to crimes. Therefore crimes increase.

Pollution: The slums, Katchi Abadis, etc. Add to the problem of pollution. The cities, therefore, become more and more polluted.

Law and Order Problem:

The fast increases in the urban population create the problem of law and order in the cities. The police are unable to deal with the crime efficiently.

Conclusion: These are some of the problems which are the result of fast growth of population and also fast migration of population from the rural areas to the urban areas of Pakistan. The government should make improvements.
