Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal Profile

shoail-anwarSohail Anwar Siyal who has recently appointed as Sindh Home Minister by Sindh government is a well-known lawmaker of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He has won the seat of PS-35 with 38,865 votes in by-election of last year by beating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate Shafqat Hussain Unnar. He has also served as president of Bakrani Taluka PPP.

In general elections 2013, Sohail Anwar became a member of the Sindh Assembly from the PS-35 LARKANA-I by securing 21,178 votes against Mr. Unnar. He considers as a close relative of the late advocate Illahi Bakhsh Siyal as well as was also close to Benazir Bhutto who had mentioned his name in her book named as ‘Daughter of the East’. He is also known as close assistant MNA Faryal Talpurr, sister of former Prime Minister Asif Ali Zardari. According to the reports Faryal Talpurr has played vital role in new designation of him as Sindh Home Minister. On the other hand, he has also been appointed as Minister of prisons.

Politician completed his early education in Larkana and passed his higher secondary school certificate exam from Hyderabad. He completed his graduation in civil engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro. The 40-years old politician was born in Faridabad village which is situated 15 kilometres away from Larkana.
