Sindh Progressive Committee Protest Against IDPs

Sindh Progressive Committee ProtestKarachi: The Sindh Progressive Committee hold a protest against internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan on Tuesday as IDPs have come to Sindh and demanding their entry in Sindh. However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the federal governments are looking for the residing in the neighboring areas of Waziristan for the IDPS.

Sindh Progressive Committee’s protest consisted on Yusuf Mastikhan, the leader of Awami Workers Party, SPC convener and leader of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz, Abdul Khaliq Junejo, Nasir Mansoor of the Communist Party, leader of Sindhi Adabi Sangat Abdul Bari, Advocate Jahangir Rahujo and many others. While addressing to the rally, they said that we will not allowed entry of IDPs in Sindh as it is once again a risk for the reduction of Sindhis into minority which Sindh has already experienced in the past. To save their land, people of Sindh province had emerged into a rally from Obaro to Karachi in order to stop the arrival of IDPs in Sindh, speakers added.

Abdul Khaliq Junejo also demanded to the government that IDPs should be set temporary near to close areas of North Waziristan or near Islamabad or in KP as we don’t want to spread a layer of insecurity in the Sindh. In this regard, SPC chief also demanded to all the forces to support each other in this hard time and fight against terrorism and religious extremists for the improvement in Sindhi culture and values.
