Sindhi Language

Sindhi language is spoken and undestood in the province of Sindh as its regional language. The base of Sindhi is also Prakrit Bhasa. The entry of Arab conquerors in Sindh influenced also the culture and the language of Sindh. Apart from Arabic words, the words of Turkish and Persian were also included in Sindhi which changed its pattern altogether.

The personality of Shah Abdul Lateef Bhitai is highly respected in Sindhi literature and poetry. Muhammad Shah and Shah Abdul Karim have also developed Sindhi language a lot. Sindhi was given the status of official language during the Kalhora and Talpur regime in Sindh.

The poetry of Sachal Sarmast pushed the Sindhi poetry ahead. Moreover, Mirza Qaleech Baig needs no introduction in the development of modern Sindhi prose.
