Sukkur Clock Tower: Public Gathering Banned

Sukkur Tower ClockSukkur: Sukkur Tower Clock has been banned for public gathering, rallies, sit-ins or demonstrations by every political, religious party and organization as it is considers as best place in order to hold such events with respect to its location. According to the details, Sukkur district administration will not allow any party to hold their political meeting here as it has imposed a ban on Friday.

It is pertinent to mention that demand to ban Sukkur Clock Tower were emerging from a long time from Business community and traders by claiming that our business and marketable activities are getting disturb due to occurring of these political events as well as routine life in the city also get affected. However in the results of these demands Sukkur administration has decided to ban these activities at this famous place of the city.

On the other hand, Sukkur administration will also hold a multi-party conference in coming fews in order to discuss about the process of strict banning public gatherings at Sukkur Clock Tower.

Sukkur Clock Tower which is commonly known as Ghanta Ghar is located in the center of city and is 90-feet high with four clocks. It is bounded by Victoria Market, Mehran Markaz which adjoining many areas of the Sukkur city. In 1937, UM Mirchandani inaugurated the tower and it was built by Seth Wadho Mal Nebhau Mal Manjhari, a Hindu businessman.
