Summer Sips – Important and fresh drinks 

Whether you like them brimming with fruit or with leafy greens, detoxifying, antioxident-packed drinks are most delicious then they appear, especially during the scorching summer. Start a day by whipping up a fresh peach and hemp milk protein smoothie for breakfast. All you need are fresh peaches, soy yoghurt, flavoured hemp milk and a few grams of hemp protein powder. Blend the peaches with yoghurt and milk and add the protein powder just before the final spin. To add zing, use coconut water ice cubes as chillers.

The ideal energising drink for those lazy afternoons when the mercury levels peak, is a pitcher of citrus lemonade. All you need is a cup of freshly squeezed organ juice, a dash of lime extract and a few drops of agave syrup to take the edge off, then top off with ice and serve. The instant burst of vitamin C will give you an immediate boost of energy, while the hint of lemon will keep you hydrated.

f you are a health junkie, wheatgrass smoothies and shots are the latest buzz words in juicing circles. Extracted from the leaves of wheatgrass, this vitamin rich, dark green liquid is served as an undiluted shot at most juice bars and cafes here in Pakistan and elsewhere too. Start by blending the seasonal fruit of your choice (grapes, melons or other water-rich fruits blend perfectly its strong taste) and serve with freshly cut pineapple slices on the side.
